A Personal Recommendation
Posted May 27, 2009

I believe it was about 1985, I went to a Media F.O.C.U.S. meeting and met Johnny and Patty Probst. It was the burden in their hearts for the people in the world of entertainment that touched me..........why didn't I think more about praying for and caring about people in the media/entertainment? Chaplain Johnny had access to the studios and to people in the entertainment industry and "walked the walk," not just "talked the talk."

We would meet monthly in the commissary at NBC-TV Studios in Burbank, and hear a "speaker" from the world of entertainment, share some faith music (I was even privileged in the early '90's to perform one of my original songs there, during our Christmas program), and pray together for God's touch upon "Hollywood" and the industry. What a joy it was!

For the last while, we haven't met on a regular basis, but keep in touch through E-mail, postal mail, personal visits and telephone. We continue to pray for God to work in the industry and the locations..........

.................then Johnny and Patty began writing a series of novels called, "Strangers and Pilgrims" series. They prayed and put down on paper as they believed the Holy Spirit to be leading, their first book entitled, "Last of the Wagon Pioneers." They called me and asked me if I would proof-read the book, and re-type it..........I was happy to do so........and became even happier when I read it! I was caught up in the story about a young family in Texas in the early 20th Century, signing into the U. S. Government lottery for land in Oregon..........and being chosen to receive the Oregon land with certain conditions. The first book is about their adventures - Farmer and Emile (who was pregnant with their third child) and their two sons taking one of the last wagon trips from Texas across the western region of America..........it was so interesting, I had trouble "stopping my reading and typing!" I'd keep saying to myself, "I'll just read to the end of the chapter," but then I'd have to turn the next page to see what was happening next........and then the next page.......and the next.................at the end of the book I was so involved in the story, I could hardly wait for the second book, "A Place for Farmer and Emile"! It was a repeat of my feelings about book one! When I finished it, I could hardly wait for the third book, "Janee"! (Janee is the granddaughter of Farmer and Emile, but that's all I'll tell you about the story.) The fourth book, "Caught Up" is compelling and exciting - difficult to put into adequate words - truly meant to "experience!"

Hopefully, I have piqued your interest..............what I'm asking you to do, is to pray for Media F.O.C.U.S. [Fellowship of Christians United (in) Service], for Johnny and Patty and for their books. If you are inspired to buy them, great! If not, that's okay too...........God will work all things out for good (Romans 8:28). You know that I wouldn't write this note to you unless I really believed in what the Lord is doing in this project, in Media F.O.C.U.S. and in Johnny and Patty!

Thanks for listening..............

God bless!!!
Love,♥ Pat.
